MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING
What is Counseling?
Counseling is a type of talk therapy. A counselor works with their clients to ensure maximum mental and emotional health. Our job as counselors is to facilitate your emotional and mental development so that one day you are independent and emotionally strong enough to take on anything that life may throw at you with complete confidence.

What are Gestalt and Person-Centered Therapy?
Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt therapy is a type of talk therapy based on the Gestalt Theory that a person has one "true" self. In this type of therapy, the goal is to assist the client in finding their true self in a safe and controlled environment. This type of therapy often involves mental health exercises and analysis of behaviors by the counselor and the client.
Person-Centered Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy is based on the theory that clients can solve their own problems if they have a non-judgmental and non-directive professional to allow them to project their self-view onto. Personal-centered therapy is very client-driven with little direction from the counselor.

What is Confidentiality?
Confidentiality is the insurance that what is said during a counseling session will not be repeated outside of therapy without the client's consent. There are, however, limitations to confidentiality in counseling. These limitations include the following: belief that the client may be a harm to themselves or others, the client is under the age of sixteen, or the client or someone they know is in danger that can be prevented.

How Much Does it Cost?
The cost of therapy is based on a sliding scale. What this means is that a client's income helps to determine how much they will have to pay. That being said, a one-hour session will cost anywhere from $30-$100.
